Handmade from reclaimed oak wine barrels. Use it under a bowl, under a wine glass, or under a wheel of cheese. This one doesn't pick sides.

Description

Handmade flat placemat crafted from reclaimed oak wine barrel wood. Front face features a laser-engraved Chommies logo positioned slightly lower than centre. Underside engraved with "Handmade in Cape Town from recycled oak wine barrels" and maker's signature. Low-profile rubber feet applied to underside to prevent movement during use. Finished with a food-safe, moisture-resistant oil suitable for pet bowl and water contact. Natural grain variation and character marks are inherent to the reclaimed material and are not defects.

Reclaimed oak sourced from retired wine barrels. Due to the nature of the material, variations in grain, tone and markings are part of the character of each piece.

Care Instructions

Our placemats are handcrafted from reclaimed oak wine barrels and finished with a dog-friendly olive oil treatment to nourish and protect the wood naturally.

To keep your placemat looking its best:

Wipe clean with a damp cloth after use
Dry thoroughly after contact with water or spills
Do not soak or leave standing water on the surface
Do not place in the dishwasher
Avoid harsh detergents or cleaning chemicals
Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight and excessive heat

As with any natural wood product, regular use and washing may gradually dry out the timber. To maintain its finish and keep the wood nourished, reapply a food-safe oil such as olive oil as needed.
